Welcome to the 420 European Championships

The opening ceremony of the 420 Open European Championship was declared the night of 25th July at İstanbul Sailing Club with a glamourous presentation.

The teams entered, led by optimist sailors wearing their banner and flag and the opening continued with shows of every countries introduction via pictures and movies as they all sang along to their national values.

The night continued with speeches from Opr.Dr.Erol Türkmen, president of the İstanbul Sailing Club, Nazlı İmre, president of the Turkish sailing Federation and Nino Schmueli, President of the 420 class.

As the heads of the departments blew the opening ceremonial horns, the  feast and parties began and went on till late hours as everybody enjoyed their time at the shore.
